LED Christmas tree lights offer creative opportunities to photographers. Sweeping over a string of lights with a camera set to long shutter speeds and low ISO settings results in interesting effects. LEDs on house power strobe at 60 pulses per second, resulting in “string of pearls” effects. Try circular motions at arms length, and panning . You never know what you are going to get until you look at the camera’s display of the photo after you take it.
The album Creative LED photography was taken at the Computer Club Camera group photoshoot on Dec 27. Photos were edited in Google Photos, adding maximum pop and lowering light levels.
